As a freelance copywriter, editor and journalist with more than 20 years of experience I deliver clear, factually accurate, intelligent writing on time, every time.

I learned and refined my editorial, writing and research skills at The Economist Newspaper in London, where I worked for 15 years in a variety of editorial roles and latterly as Deputy Literary Editor. This position involved writing over 200 book reviews for the paper, copy editing, headline and caption writing, proofreading, and honing a precise eye for grammar, spelling, writing style and tone of voice. I still write regular book reviews for The Economist.

Renowned in my specialist sectors for being reliable, conscientious and a safe pair of hands, I have a warm interviewing style, a fanatical approach to detail and the ability to write copy that really counts.

THE ORIGINAL COOL DOG

The original Cool Dog, after which the company is named, was Hamish, my Border Terrier, a dog with a true countryside heritage. Unlike many terriers he was biddable, obedient and quiet. Now sadly departed, he spent many days with me at The Economist, came sailing at weekends and loved his rural expeditions in West Sussex and later Wales.
